On the occasion of the First School Day (15 September) patient associations from the National Alliance of People with Rare Diseases organised a protest march with the motto “For a fair chance to our children”. Once again, people with rare diseases in Bulgaria tried to familiarize the society with the cause for which they fight – equal rights for all citizens, including equal access to adequate and appropriate medical care. Parents requested the application of European norms and regulations which will enable children with rare diseases to lead a normal and fulfilling lives, including going to school as their peers. Over 100 people have passed through the main street of Plovdiv with these requests.
