ICRDOD is expanding its thematic series of reviews on rare diseases in Bulgaria. The new review “Epidemiological registries for rare diseases in Bulgaria” focuses on the topic of registries. The analysis includes a description of the main characteristics of this type of database (goals and objectives, benefits and value, key factors in planning, launching and management of epidemiological registries for rare diseases), a presentation of European and international recommendations and guidelines in this area and a summary of available information on the existing registries for rare diseases in the country by May 2012.
