On 6 April 2006, a new orphan medicinal product was registered into the community register of orphan medicinal products under the EU orphan designation number 359. The active ingredient is Adeno associated viral vector containing the human calpain 3 gene for treatment of calpainopathy (Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy).
