For second consecutive year on EURORDIS initiative the Rare Diseases Day (February 28) was marked in over 20 countries in Europe, America and Asia. A large number of events took place in Bulgaria. On February 23 a press-conference was held at BTA. Representatives of the National alliance of people with rare diseases, the Information centre of rare diseases and orphan drugs, patient associations attended it. On February 28 local activities were held in 5 of the largest cities in Bulgaria (Sofia, Plovdiv, Pleven, Stara Zagora, Sliven). The culmination of the day was a charity concert at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia. Bulgaria’s First lady – Mrs. Zorka Parvanova was the official patron of all the events.
